The service account for private individuals

Many administrative services are also available digitally. In order for courts, authorities, and offices to assist you online, they need a legally valid consent from you and a way to reach you. Additionally, the administration can generally only send binding and sensitive communications to you if it can be sure that you are indeed the correct person intended to receive them. For this, you need what is called a Servicekonto (service account) or the Servicekonto Plus (Service Account Plus).

Servicekonto

The Servicekonto entitles you to use most online services. To register, you only need a valid email address and a password of your choice. With this account, hereinafter also referred to as the Servicekonto, only your email address is verified.

Servicekonto Plus

For online services that require a high level of authentication trust, there is the Servicekonto Plus. Here, we first verify your identity to prevent the misuse of sensitive data.

The Servicekonto Plus includes all the features of the Servicekonto and additionally offers the ability to securely exchange sensitive data.  To register for the Servicekonto Plus, you can use the eID feature of your electronic ID card, residence permit, or the Nect Wallet. The eID function is typically used via a card reader or your smartphone with the AusweisApp installed. The Nect Wallet function works with the Nect Wallet app installed. If you already have a Servicekonto, you can also upgrade it to a Servicekonto Plus.

Both the Servicekonto and the Servicekonto Plus are free of charge. Administrative fees only apply for certain administrative services – just like with a traditional visit to the authorities.

Login with a BundID user account

In addition to regular login with a Service Account or Service Account Plus, you have the option to log in temporarily or transiently via "BundID." No Service Account is required for these login options.

From the perspective of the Service Portal, this is a login with an external account. No account data is permanently stored in the Service Portal.However, logging into the Service Portal via BundID requires that you have a corresponding user account with "BundID."
